About the role

The client is hiring experienced AutoCAD drafters specialising in passive ICT and network infrastructure. You will work from architectural drawings and project requirements, and produce detailed, accurate cabling drawings along with the material quantities behind them. The company wants self-starters who can work from requirements to finished drawings with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Draft cable trays, conduits, data cabling and data outlets based on architectural drawings and project specifications
• Produce riser diagrams showing how network infrastructure is distributed vertically through the building
• Position equipment racks at the designated distribution points
• Prepare rack elevations and patch panel schematics that match the data outlet requirements
• Label data outlets, cables and racks clearly across all drawings
• Calculate and record material quantities per drawing to feed into the project’s bill of quantities (BOQ)
• On-site team members: work closely and continuously with other on-site designers to keep drawings consistent
• Remote team members: coordinate regularly with the on-site design team to get the latest drawings and confirm design intent

Required qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical, ICT, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related technical field
• Roughly 3–5+ years of hands-on AutoCAD drafting, preferably in passive ICT/network infrastructure or structured cabling
• Proven experience drafting cable trays, conduits, data outlets, riser diagrams, and rack/patch panel layouts
• Able to read architectural drawings and convert them accurately into detailed cabling drawings
• Able to calculate and document material quantities from finished drawings
• Strong attention to detail and consistency, especially within a multi-person drafting team
• Comfortable working either on-site in a team or independently remotely, depending on the position
• Working-level English, sufficient for reading project documents and communicating with the design team

Nice to have

• Familiarity with structured cabling standards such as BICSI
• Basic Revit/BIM knowledge to support handoff to the BIM team
• Experience on airports, transport or other large infrastructure/construction projects
• Experience with formal QA/QC drawing review processes
